There are so many activities to enjoy in and around Green Lake–whatever season you choose to stay. Here are a few ideas, but innkeepers Scott and Mary Jo are experts in local activities and can help you plan your day to day or weekly activities.

Water Sports

Green Lake offers the very best water sport action in the area. Take a pontoon boat out for a leisurely ride, spend the day charter fishing, rent jet skis, go water skiing, kayaking, canoeing or paddle boarding.


The Green Lake area offers four major golf courses within minutes of each other, that offer 81 holes of very challenging golf. Home to the oldest golf course in Wisconsin, Tuscumbia, and Lawsonia, an award-winning course that consistently ranks in the top 50 golf courses in the country. In Green Lake, the golfing opportunities are endless!

Biking & Hiking Trails

If you enjoy the outdoors, Green Lake is the place for any season. With trails of various difficulty levels, Green Lake provides biking opportunities for riders of any age and endurance level. Bike routes maps are available from the Green Lake Chamber of Commerce.

Cultural Arts

The Thrasher Opera House, a historically restored building and a unique venue brings Green Lake patrons performance arts from music and theater to opera and dance. Or you can pursue your own passions through the art and education opportunities that are offered at Town Square, Green Lake's community center just two blocks from the McConnell Inn.

Day Outings

Green Lake offers many unique outings. Take a hot air balloon ride, go horseback riding, visit a bison ranch, or spend the day skiing the slopes.

Local History

If you are interested in the rich history of Green Lake, you can visit the Dartford Historical Society at Mill St. and S South Lawson Drive which is only one and a half blocks from the McConnell Inn.
